Why Everyone Fails

Successful people aren’t lucky, they  work at it, every day.  You don’t have to do a lot each day, but you need to do something.  Even 5 minutes a day can be the difference between success and failure.  After all these years I am still excited about building my internet business and look forward to working on it.  When results from my efforts begin to roll in, I really get excited and want to do even more.  The most motivating thing that will happen to you, is when you start making money.  Follow the free advice on this website and when that money begins to flow it will never stop.

The key to your success in the beginning is to do something every day while waiting for the results of your efforts to kick in.  Some people see the results almost immediately, which is great.  Others have the results build slower, do not loose faith, give it some time, it will happen.  Remember, you cannot fail, if you do not quit. When success comes, it will start to build and with your help can increase with great momentum.

We are going to assume that you have picked the right program or product to be promoting.  The #1 reason people fail to make money on the internet is that they picked the wrong program.  Many programs do not pay enough and take too long to start paying off.  Others have products no one wants or needs, or are way overpriced.  It is vital to your success that you be in a well run opportunity with good profit for you upfront,  plus residual income.

The #2 reason most people fail, they do not do anything. When anyone tells me they are having a tough time of getting their business going, I ask this question, “What did you do to build your business today.  The key word in that question is “today”.  What did you do today!  Oh course the answer is usually “nothing”.

Once your business is up and rolling is different than when you are first building it.  I personally treat my business like I am building it even when it is rolling, that’s how businesses get huge.

Today is Saturday and I am sitting here writing this Blog post.  I like to write a few posts a week.  Blogs create free traffic, traffic is the lifeblood of making money on the internet.  Do you have a blog? This website, “Solid Money Makers” is a wordpress blog. WordPress Blogs are free, however you need a domain to put them on.  You can get a domain for $12 to $15 a year.  You also need to have the domain hosted, $5 to $7 a month.   There are some company’s that will do it all, which makes it much easier.

Having our own Blog is a way to establish your brand, a way to promote multiple offers.  Do not get one unless you have made a commitment to success.  Do not get one until you are sure you are in the right program and you are making  some money.

So what is the first thing you should be doing to make some money today, and tomorrow.  Get traffic. What is the second thing you should be doing.  Get more traffic.  What is the third thing you should be doing.  Get even more traffic.  Traffic is the lifeblood of making money on the internet. We will discuss ways to get traffic in another post.

Why Your Friends Do Not Want You to Succeed

Getting friends,  relatives, and co-workers involved in your new business venture is tricky business.  There is a “catch 22” about it.  When you become successful, then everyone wants to join.  When you are building your business, everyone is waiting to see how you do.  What’s ironic is that if all the people waiting would come on board right away you would become super successful.

You do not need your friend and relatives, it only take a few good people working together to create an unstoppable force headed for success.

Believe it or not, some of your friends and relatives do not want you to succeed.  It is the same reason so many people are not living the American Dream.  They have no drive, they would rather complain about not being able to get ahead, then do something about it.  It is a lot easier to sit in the bar after work and have a beer then to work a couple of hours on their new internet business, which could get them to the point where they quit that day job they hate.

They don’t want you to become more successful then them.  They want you to stay their “Bud” or BFF, not become one of those rich people with a new house and car, going on vacations, leaving them behind. Most of the time they don’t even realize how they really think, it is subconscious, and they do not even believe that regular people can get ahead.

Do not let anyone stomp on your dreams.  Not your parents, your friend, your relatives , or any other negative person you may run into.

Go talk to a “rich” person.  They not going to stomp on your dreams, they are going to tell you to go for it.  They are going to tell you you can do it.  They know you can do it, anyone can do it.  This is America, and it is still the country everyone all over the world is trying to get into.  Immigrants are still arriving penniless and creating fortunes for themselves.  They live the American Dream because they believe in it, they simply believe that America is still the land of opportunity.

Some Americans, on the other hand, talk about the greatness of America being behind us. They say the 99% can no longer become part of the top 1%.  Total BS.  You can have everything you ever wanted in life, as long as you are willing to work for it.  Opportunity in this country is as great as it ever was, you job is to find the right opportunity, and work at it.

With the exception of the lucky few who inherit their money, you have to put in some work and effort. Ask any successful person, they worked at building their business, especially at the very beginning.

Once you have some success, your friend will suddenly change their tune.  Maybe this is an opportunity for them, if you did it, they can do it.

So don’t be disappointed if all your friends do not jump on your bandwagon at first, they will in time. You need to stay positive and committed to success, and force any doubt and negative thoughts from your mind.

One of the reasons I suggest you never try to “sell” your friends, just send them to your website is to insulate you from negative people.  Surround yourself with winners and you will become a winner.

Work with the few who did join with you, together you can all become winners.

You can turn every one of your dreams into reality, just believe you can do it, and work at it. What did you do to build your business today.







Should I email everyone about my New Business?

Emailing everyone you know is not necessarily a good idea.

If you are in some type of business now and it is a business type list, that might be OK. If you are in Facebook or one of the social networks,  tag you new business and put it on your page as a thing we “like”.  Never try to “sell” anything to anyone, Let them come to you.

Something to remember is that you are always simply trying to get someone to your website.  Let your website do the selling and answer the questions.  If they decide to join , great, if not, that’s OK also.  As soon as you start making money, everyone will want to join.

If you decide to email everyone you have an email address for.  Simply let them know you are excited about being in business for yourself and give them a link to your website.

What do you put in an email?  That’s the million dollar question.  Some people like really simple emails, for example.

Remember, you are trying to get them to your website, that’s all.  Let your website do the selling.



Should You Sell to Your Friends

NO.  That was easy.  Never sell anything to anyone.  It is alright to tell them just a little about your new venture or product, but do not try to sell them on it.  It is all about presentation, with the proper presentation, they will want it, without you having to sell them on it.

This is not the easiest concept to grasp.  Some of us call it Negative Sell.  Everybody wants what they can not have.  Nobody wants to miss out on a good deal, unless someone tries to “sell” them on it.

I have to break this up over 3 posts.  First, we will talk about personal contact with friends.  Second, we will talk about sending emails.  Third I will talk about problems with friends and relatives in general.

Personal Contact

You have to seriously think about each friend or relative before saying anything.  If they are not successful, it is your fault, even if they never lift a finger to promote or grow their business, it will be your fault.

If you do decide to let someone know about your business, simply be  enthusiastic about your being in own business, but do not go into detail.  They will probably ask questions. I suggest that you do not give  details. Tell them that it is an internet business.  You are doing part time, for now, you expect to build it to a full time income. (That will spark their interest)

You can tell them you like the fact that it does not involve selling.  You don’t want to be one of those people pushing their friends to buy some overpriced bar of soap or some magic bracelet.  What you like is that everything is done on the internet, and you can can work on it when you have free time.  Another great thing is that while you are sitting here talking to them your business is running,  It is completely automated and runs 24/7.

This is all you reveal.  If asked, you can tell them it is not MLM or a “Network” program that is just another name for MLM.     It is unfortunate that  the MLM and Network Marketing industry are thought of in a negative way by many people.  There are many good companies with quality products.

Say this, ” I have joined forces with an internet affiliate program   I have the right to resell their products and services.  I also received their expertise in setting up my web sites and blog, and in promoting it..  It’s kind of like a franchise, but without the fees. It’s really great”

That’s it, you are done.  If your friends or relatives want more info, send them to your website.  You can say,  “The nice thing about this business is that it is all done on the internet.  My websites are working for me while I am here relaxing.  Here is my card with my website address,  take a look, it will answer all your questions.  I think this is a great opportunity, that’s why I am doing it.  I am not alone , this company has all sorts of affiliates doing it.”

They will probably stop asking questions at this point, if not, just refer them to the website by saying it is too much to explain and you will not be able to do it justice.

If they are the least  bit interested they will go to the website and check it out. The point is, soft sell.  Let them know about it, but don’t push.
